Just a few things!

Cards, Cards and more Cards will be posted in the next couple of days. i am trying to catch up on everything. Monday I went to Shibuya for a Girl Scout Exchange between UK Girl Guides and Japanese Girl Guides. Every year for the past 12 years they have come together for an exchange of ideas. This year the focus was on Water and Peace. the UK Girl Guide Leaders spent approxiamiately 2 weeks in Japan, and worked with the Japanese Girl Scouts as well as visiting a water plant, a water museum, Hiroshima etc to get a better understanding of how can they can reach this goal. On Monday as part of West Paficic Girl Scouts myself and 2 others attended the end results of this gathering for the presentation.

It was alot of fun and I learned some things about the UK and Japan about the usage of water and their ideas of how to attain peace. Other things also like I really should go visit Hiroshima before I leave Japan, that a tour of a Water Plant would probably be a good idea for my Junior Troop.

I also made some connections, we hope to do an exchange of emails or letters between our troops.

Tuesday was my Girl Scout meeting and we are finishing up our quilted pillows, and then there are cookie sales, world thinking day and choosing our end of the year trip, making sure everyone is able to go on the trip.... Alot going on yesterday! Today has been my day to relax and as I sit here relaxing knowing I should be cleaning up the house or my craft room so I can make something anything crafty I see that it is almost time for the munchkins to come home.
Tomorrow is a 30 minute drive to Zama to see if Caitlins teeth have expanded far enough or if she will need another week with the expander and turning it twice a day in her mouth.

I promise to post more cards or other creations soon!

Cupcakes & Hearts

{wanted to show how glittery the cupcake is}

It's that wonderful time of year again.. No not Girl Scout cookies, though it IS that time of year right now.
I mean Valentines Day, where roses and chocolates foot rubs and dining out is a wonderful treat. Not that DH and I ever do any of that, maybe every couple of years we will dine out. Since I have been card making I usually make him a card. Valentines is sometimes overlooked by both of us because our Wedding Anniversary is 8 days later.

What is on my list for both of these days? Well since I just broke my B plate in half using my nestabilities I would like a new B plate. I also asked for a hot knife to cut my unmounted rubber stamps and a table for my craft room so I actually have space to craft.

Our Anniversary plans? We have none, DH will be returning from Korea (he leaves the beginning of Feb) on that day and I will be returning from a 3 day Girl Scout Conference, so we will probably spend some time with the kids.

Anywho... what you are all here for.. CARDS!

My Junior Girl Scout Troop is participating in a Service Project to create butterflies and then send them to the Holocaust Museum to be a part of this wonderful piece they are putting together as a Memorial in Houston. Check the site out HERE if you would like to help in this cause. (I am trying to locate the book "I never saw a Butterfly", if you find a copy please let me know)
{Make sure you read the requirements for the butterflies size and products that can NOT be used}

In an effort to remember them, Holocaust Museum Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies. The butterflies will eventually comprise a breath-taking exhibition, currently scheduled for Spring 2012, for all to remember.As of Summer 2008, we have already collected an estimated 400,000 butterflies.

Creative Block

I apologize for not posting any cards and such lately. My youngest DD is getting braces, but she needs other work first. She has a cross bite and the Dentist says her issue is also overcrowding. So she will wear an expander (which was just put in on Thursday), which we have to adjust 2 times a day. In one week he will reevaluate her and let us know how much longer she has to wear it. So this week was 2 trips to the Dentist next week is one.. I will be making many more trips to the Dentist with her on a weekly basis..

Also Girl scout cookie sales are in full swing, I am a leader of a Junior Troop and because I do not have adult participation and my Co leader is also a co leader for a second Troop I am committed to every weekend selling Cookies at our Booth Sales. My time is not my own, I would love to go in and make a card, but I just have not the time or inspiration.

Hopefully I can get some stuff done and posted tonight! See ya'll later, I have to locate a table to sell cookies!

CandyBar Wrappers

I am sure many of you have wondered what the title Scraps-N-Wraps was for. What do you mean?
Well Scraps, for me takes care of my paper crafting side, Scrapbooking, Card making etc. The Wraps is for my Candy Wrapper side, have I not mentioned that I make Candy Bar wrappers?

I do and I have been for 3 years, as well as Candy Bouquets and Stuff A Friend Bears. These businesses go hand in hand. I do Birthday parties that are themed, like Tea Parties and we stuff bears, goodie bags are filled with personalized mini candy bars and a large candy bar.

The Bouquets usually sell to offices and I am most busy during Holidays (i.e. Valentines).

My Stuff A Friend Bears I have a class once a month and also do Birthday Parties, where scrapbooking, card making, candy bar wrapping and candy bouquets all come in handy to make the day special for the Birthday Child.
