My Wedding Dress

Well I have been married since February of 1997 and I have lived in Japan for the past 6 years.. For 2 or 3 years now I have been under the impression that my wedding dress accidentally went out in the trash during one of our purgings along with my first scrapbook with the gorey..birth photos and all.. ewww(sorry for the person who picks that up)..LOL

Anyways, as we were looking for my sleeping bag for camp I found my Wedding Dress! Yahoo! The girls tried the dress on and ooh'd and ahh'd over it.. it was so precious and gut wrenching and shocking and tearful all at the same time..

Now the scrapbook of my daughters birth has not been found, (I do think that one accidentally went in the trash..)Who knows maybe in 3 more years I will find it...

I'll be back tomorrow with some scrappy stuff.. I am working on a few swaps (I joined the Harry Potter Swap and a Princess Paint Can Swap).. I am also in the process of relocating my crap (Craft) room, to the Craft Cage.. LOL... I have been there before for those that remember.. I am giving my daughter back her room and I am almost finished moving everything...

I am exhausted!

Hello everyone! I am back from a week of Girl Scout camping! I spent 6 days actually camping and 2 days at the camp area prior to the start of camp. Let me tell you being a functioning part of planning a camp and in the innerworkings is/was tiring.

All of the girls had a GREAT time despite the rain that poured down on us 4 out of the 6 days. My job was to schedule all 125 girls to their events and make sure they were rotated and such. I also taught a few classes. One about electromagnetic spectrums and solar cars, also I taught the Science Sleuth & Wonders badge. We learned about fingerprints and crystals, geodes and vibrations. We hiked and rode horses, sat around the camp fire, made smores, sang songs, the girls learned about orienteering and archery and even traded swaps. All of the wonderful Girl Scout Traditions, friendships were made and I was able to watch such wonderful girls change into something even more wonderful in just 6 days it was amazing.

Jessica and Tracy did such a wonderful job without them as Camp and Co Camp Directors Tama Outdoor Camp would not be possible. Peggy for being in charge of the Program Aides, and all of the wonderful 7th grade and up girls who have given up a week of their Summer to be Leaders to other girls, Marcy & Glenn for being able to shuttle our guests that came in by plane and my cohort in almost everything Kara for helping me run and keep my stuff together as well as keeping my clothes dry..

Learning to say

You're Welcome.. is a word that doesn't come from my mouth frequently.. I know that sounds harsh, I am not saying that I am not polite (because I think I am) for some reason (I don't know when) my response to Thank you became "No problem" or "It's no problem", "don't worry about it" something to that effect.

I realized it the other day as I was holding the door open to the Mini Mart to let a gentleman walk out, he said "thank you" and in my head I thought "you're welcome" but what came out was no problem. I was shocked and tried to remember the last time that I had said you're welcome. I couldn't remember, I am raising my daughters to say please and thank you but it seems I probably need to remind them to say you're welcome as well.

I know it may seem trivial and my other answers may seem sufficient but for me personally I think I need to put you're welcome back into my response. I feel like I have cheated everyone out of a friendly response with more meaning and thoughtfulness than a no problem..

I guess this will be a pet peeve of mine.

What's New?

What's new? Well my Husband just made Senior Chief, we are all very proud and happy for him!

Amanda was in the Talent Show for the Kanto Plains area and did such a BEAUTIFUL job singing "Cold As You" by Taylor Swift, she also entered the School's Talent Show and will be moving on to Middle School (7th grade).

Caitlin was in a Science Fair and her project was about growing crystals and which would grow crystals faster sugar or salt and would the crystals be the same. She has her braces and just had pink and blue rubberbands put on, she is excited to have some fun with her braces..LOL

As for me well I have taken a role as CO-OCC (OCC:Overseas Committee Chair) for Girl Scouts my role is to basically do all of the things that the OCC is unable to do or attend due to her job. This morning I woke up with a sore throat I hope that this is all I get and I do not go into full fledged sick mode.

I have been reading alot, mainly re-reading as I haven't been able to really find another book to read due to the limited books available at our bookstore on base.

I have re-read Harry Potter, Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Series (I do however need to buy the new book Skin Trade that was released this month) and also Brisinger (Eragon book) although this is my first time reading the latter book.

What book do you recommend?
I need to make some farewell cards as some of our friends are transferring.

Wow! A long time!

Wow! I can not believe that my small break away from blogging actually took this long.
For those of you that actually read my blog I apologize for the long absence. It was unintentional but I needed it to get a new perspective on things.

Unfortunately I have not created anything since leaving the blog, I have been wrapped up and consumed by Girl Scouts and my day to day life that I haven't really made sure to have time for myself to enjoy the things I really enjoy doing.. Like making cards..

So here I am ... and I hope to start posting creations soon! I have missed my blog and playing with my stamps!
