Christmas Card in July

Afternoon Bloggers!

 So yesterday I had a creative peak and finished my projects for the 100 Cartridge Blog Hop happening the first weekend in August.. My youngest DD even joined me in the Craft Room and made a layout with things I was not using..

Both of the girls the other day made houses from my scraps.. I was very proud of their houses so cute.. I need to find them and post pictures of what they made..

Today I made a Christmas Card using the Imagine Snow Angel Cartridge

The total look wasn't exactly what I was going for but youngest DD had a great time helping me..
I wanted it to have a vintage feel to it.. I crumbled the paper then used Tim Holtz Linen Distress on it as well as the ornament cut out..

I then used off-ray ribbon to hang it on the card. Patterned Paper was printed form the Snow Angel Cartridge as well

The greeting inside the card was made with the {ippity} stamp set Season of Joy

Cuts:
Paper was sized on my Gypsy to fit the A2 card
Ornament was cut at 3.0

**side note** paper on the front of the card as well as inside the card are the same exact paper  I blame the lighting and photos from the iPhone 4 as the reason it shows 2 different colors. IRL its more of the card front color and not so pink as the inside..

Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Christmas in July Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Rainas.

This set I made using the Imagine & the Snow Angel Cartridge. The bucket was a leftover that had Prima flowers in it so I repurposed it. I could see putting cookies or those cookies or cakes in a jar type thing. 


I used the Easter 2010 Cartridge for the Cupcake holder and flood filled it with the pattern from Snow Angel. I cut it at fit to page then had to adjust it to fit the cupcake. The Ornament on the front was cut at 3.5 inches.


The flower was made using ribbon stitched to form the flower, then a Prima flower over it and then the Ornament cut to top it off at size 3.o inches. This was attached to the gift card holder I made by using a coffee sleeve and putting pattern papered from the Snow Angel Cartridge and Twine from TheTwinery.

Christmas in July - Day 2

Welcome back!

 Today I am sharing with you how I did NOT follow directions from the Michaels instruction sheet and created my own Glitter Ornament..

Have you ever seen those project sheets at Michaels? Well one weekend there were a ton (at least 10) and I grabbed one of each of them. One of them was how to create a Glitter ornament.. I briefly read over it looked for the items on the instruction sheet and could not find them.. ugghhh ... So I came home with my goodies for the day and put it on the back burner..

First this ornament was not glass it is actually plastic. I pulled the top off of it and then tried glimmer mist, that totally was a FAIL! After wandering around my Craft Room opening and closing drawers I found some Close to My Heart reinker. I poured it in the Ornament and swirled it around. I then flipped the Ornament over and let the excess ink pool onto a pile of napkins, so I would not stain my counter tops. I then used red glitter and poured about a tablespoon in it and shook it around, again I flipped the ornament over and let any excess glitter fall out.

 The Deer on the ornament was printed from the Imagine using the Snow Angel Cart at 2.0 onto printable vinyl and then adhered to the ornament. To finish it off I used left over ribbon from 2 Christmas' ago and tied it to the top after replacing it and the hook. Voila a Cute Christmas ornament. I am thinking of taking it a step further and personalizing one for each of my daughters with their name on it. The possibilities are endless..

I think I am getting carried away with Glimmer Mists!

Both of these cards were created using Glimmer Mist Tattered Angels

Card 1 I stamped the images then cut them out and used them as a mask on the card

where the Glimmer Mist did not go from the Masking technique I stamped to get the effect you see above. It almost makes it looks like it is embossed, it just gives it a little more dimension.

Tattered Angels Colors Use: Starfish, Sugar, Green

Card 2 

I used 2 of the images that I used for the masking technique and popped them up

with foam adhesive

Christmas in July

Good Morning Bloggers!

 Welcome to the Christmas in July, it seems like every year the Christmas items are coming out earlier and earlier. (Maybe we just all forget that they bring Christmas Stuff out in July)Michaels had Christmas items before Halloween items!

The Mittens were cut using the Imagine & the Joys of the Season Cartridge

Cut at 4.0

They were filled with a pattern from the Enjoy the Seasons Imagine Cartridge

I then traced the stitches with a black pen

and then used Diamond Glitter Glue over

I used the Marvy Uchida scallop pinch and then spritzed it with 

Tattered Angels Viva Pink Mist

and the sentiment is a random stamp I found in the bottom of a drawer

stamped in Unity Brown Hybrid Ink..

This will be my first Christmas in our OWN home, in 11 years it will be our FIRST Christmas in Florida... Last year due to the move from Japan to Florida we did not Celebrate Christmas so this year I hope we do it right.. Friends, Family, Dinner, Presents, the Cartoon Marathon, Decorating.. etc etc..

I think i will hang this and make a couple others in different colors to hang on the tree this year, since our Ornament stash is pretty low..

Thankful For You $5.40

I am extremely happy with how this card turned out. I sat down and made 5 or 6 cards one day using Glimmer Mist and the beginning the cards were VERY simple and at the end (I still feel simple) this is the last card I made and it just looks a bit more complicated then when I started.. does that make sense?

For the Pattern on the card I had used an EK Success Plaid Punch and punched some Kraft Cardstock and then laid that piece on the card and spritzed the glimmer mist, then repeated.

The Butterfly was stamped and then cut out and adhered to Iridescent Cellophane and underneath that Tulle that had been punched with a 2 1/2 in circle punch

Below that I took ric a rac ribbon in pink and attached it to the white ribbon using tombow adhesive and trimmed the ends of the ribbon

I stamped the sentiment on white cs and cut around it and adhered it to the front of the card.. Voila, the card is finished!

Sundays Re-Visited

Hello Blog World! Sundays are Projects Re-Visited.. I made this Card in April and just absolutely fell in love with it, everything about the card! The colors, the tree and the sentiments on the card. A Perfect guy card in my opinion.

Below is the ORIGINAL post from April.

I really love how this card turned out, I had no clear idea for what I wanted to put together when I started.

The Paper and Image is from Cricut Imagine JT Art cartridge.

I just really liked how the tree looked lonely, so I chose the tree then I had to find the paper.. honestly I thought the tree was more gray then blue..

I cut the tree at 4.0 twice, the patterned paper I actually chose the rounded square and filled it with the pattern then print & cut.

I inked the top tree in Tim Holtz Distress ink Vintage Photo, and popped it using CTMH 3d Foam Tape

The sentiment on the front of the card is from {ippity} Authentic Man Set

I used versamark and heat embossed it with Tim Holtz Distress Powder in Vintage Photo

The sentiment inside the card is from {ippity} Delightful Little Things set

I thought adding ribbon would make the card to girly, but who knows I may add blue or brown ribbon to it..
