Wednesday Wowzer Time

Hey Creepers!!
Happy Halloween and Happy Wednesday.
I have a fun post to share today.
Something I passed out to my co-workers and friends today.

These cellophane bags contain my much admired and craved caramel corn.  I try to only make it this time of year so that is really treat people look forward to.

The stamps I used were, Gurnsey Gingham and Halloween Greetings.

I stamped my cardstock with the Gurnsey Gingham before cutting out the pumpkins.

I used little letter stickers to remind me who each bag went to.

This is not a great picture, but it is 2:00 in the morning, so it's the best I could do!

I hope everyone has a great night with their kids or what ever it you are doing tonight.  Be safe.
Those of you on the East Coast, I can't even imagine what you are going through, none of this seems to matter compared to what you are all facing.  Our thoughts and prayers be with you, I wish I could do more.

This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today's I Heart Ippity's post.

Give Thanks...

Today I wanted to add to my fall "thanks" card bin, so I pulled out my Lily Bee fall line and created this fun card using a leaf punch, handcut heart and punched hearts. The Thanks is from the Regal Greetings stamp set, and I have used that "thanks" so many times since receiving it!!
Hope you are having a happy Tuesday!

Elegant Autumn

I would describe my paper crafting style as cutesy and whimsical-normally.  Every once in a while, though, I find myself wanting a more "grown-up" look for a card.  I love that I can take a whimsical stamp set, such as {ippity}'s "Fall for You" and make an elegant card just by tweaking my usual colors and design elements.

I added a bit of interest to my card base by making the front panel a bit narrower than the back.  The flourish embossing folder also added a bit of a classic look.  Simple pumpkins, stamped on orange textured cardstock, add a pop of color without being overdone, and the coordinating gems ground the sentiment while adding just a hint of sparkle.

How do you stretch your stamps?  Do you have a way to make an elegant card with a whimsical stamp set?  Or, do you have a classic stamp set that you add your own touch of whimsy to?  I'd LOVE to see your ideas!  Link us up in the comments section, or share them with us on Facebook!  Just click the logo below to be linked to the I Heart {ippity} Facebook page!

Courage Is My Strength Tag

It's a bittersweet day for me, as today is my last post as a guest designer on the I Heart {ippity} design team. It's been a blast and I'd like to thank Heather and the entire {ippity} team for being so welcoming and helpful these past few months. :)

Today I'd like to share a simple tag I made in honor of breast cancer awareness. October has been an absolutely CRAZY month for me, and aside from themed design team projects, I haven't had very much time to create any projects specifically for breast cancer awareness. The Courage Is My Strength stamp set is a perfect set for making any sort of encouraging/inspiring projects.

Like I said this month has been crazy, so all of my crafty projects have been kept pretty clean and simple. Which isn't a bad thing, I just wish I had the time to put more detail into my work. Using the 'courage is my strength' stamp I made a tag that would be great to use for a large amount of breast cancer awareness bags and cards.

Here's what I used to make the tag:
- Cricut Expression machine with the Artiste cartridge (shape cut at 3.5")
- Courage Is My Strength Stamp Set
- Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot
- Echo Park patterned paper
- White ribbon
- White adhesive pearls

Super simple and yet so inspiring! Thanks so much for stopping by, and for all of your support these past few months.

You Are Fabulous Card...

Happy Tuesday!
I worked late after school today so daylight did not exist, so pardon my indoor photo.
Today I used my Silhouette to cut the background on this card, then cut the layered flower and finally added the button and the "You are Fabulous" to the card. This was a fun one to make as the background added a great texture to the overall card.
Do you use your die cutter to make backgrounds?
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Just Because...

Have you ever sat down to make a card...
and you know EXACTLY what you want that card to look like...
so you choose your favorite cupcake stamp and copic colors...
then, something happens...

and you end up with a paper-pieced birdie instead?
Well, that's what happened to me today! LOL

Check out this cutie:

I created my background by adhering a few punched hexagons-layering some with foam tape, as you can see in the close-up.  The branch and bird (both from {ippity}'s Fall for You stamp set) are paper-pieced, with some glittery accents (Cotton Candy, Yellow, and Lime Green Stickles.)  I added a little wisp of white feathers to the birdie for a touch of whimsy, and that inspired my sentiment: "just because"!  (Sentiment from {ippity}'s "How YOU Doin' stamp set.)

Thanks for popping by today-hope this little birdie made you smile on a Monday!

A Taste of Fall...

Hey there, inky friends!
Sherri here with a tiny bit of inspiration for you on this fall day.  :)

As a teacher, I am always receiving little gifts from my students and their families.  I made this little "thank you" card for a student of mine who brought me some fruity gifts.  Her family owns an apple orchard, so of course she brought me a HUGE shiny apple.  She also brought me a watermelon!  It was a mini one-and looked quite curious on my desk! LOL

So here is the little "thank you" that I made for her:

The "thanks so much" sentiment is from {ippity}'s "Just Wanted to Say" set.  I traced an ancient template and handcut the apple from kraft cardstock, then trimmed some American Crafts patterned papers to fit just inside the edge.  The little apple seeds are actually leftover heart die-cuts from another project.  They added just the right touch of sweetness, don't you think?

Don't be afraid to mix in those old tools and paper lines!  Bust that stash and create some fun little cards.  {ippity} stamps will give even your oldest or most neglected supplies that "WOW" factor!

Halloween/Fall Wreath

Supplies Needed
{didn't use the orange tulle after all}

Morning Bloggers! Remember that cute little Pumpkin I created for a Blog Hop?
If not, it's ok because I am going to put it to use here anyways!

I attempted my first HOMEMADE wreath..

I bought this ORANGE Foam Wreath from Target in the $1 section
The Ribbon is VERY Glittery and messy from Joanns
I started wrapping the wide wired ribbon around the foam wreath

I used hot glue to adhere it together when I got to the end

This is the cute little Pumpkin I had stamped on Chipboard and then added
a Thickers letter F

I used a pre-made bow from Michaels with Pumpkins on it to finish the wreath
You can see it on my Door Above

Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy Crafting!
