A Funny!!

I must add an acquaintance I met through WLS Group meeting was having the EGD the same day as myself.

**back story**
I met D at the October meeting she was having a conversation with my husband, at the end of the meeting we exchanged phone numbers..
**back to EGD**

Ok so today I received a pone call from D calling to see how I am after the EGD... (I thought how nice of her) She then proceeds to ask me if I remember seeing her yesterday.. I was like no.. She said she was getting dressed and they had wheeled me in and she asked the Nurses if it was Heather F.. over there and they said yes and she asked if she could see me and they LET her!! LOL

So she comes over and has a conversation with me apparently I hugged her (I am usually not the hugging almost complete strangers type of person, ok I am usually NOT the touchy feel type of person)... So I told her on the phone, "wow really, that is one reason why I do not drink.. I like to be in control of me".. She started laughing and said that was the exact same thing I said to her that day.. OH EM GEE.. I thought it was funny, but it is completely true!

So we talked about our results...

We both have hernias...
We both had to have a biopsy because our blood work showed positive for H-pylori

However D is scheduled to have surgery in December and has been through her psych consult and everything.. Where as I am scheduled tentatively for 25 Jan and have my Psych consult for December..

She is having the RNY as she has had a previous bowel resection where as I am opting for VSG as I have zero co-morbidities that RNY would be beneficial for me.. I know that the weight loss is slower with VSG and some say not as great as RNY but I can not for the life of me get over the "re-sectioning" part of the procedure and the stomach that is not used but still produces ____________ ... Where as the VSG they remove a portion of the stomach and that portion they remove controls the hunger switch, there is no re-sectioning there is just cut and remove.

Anyways we have agreed to try and get together when the kids go back to school next week to watch Twilight, Breaking Dawn Pt 1. Though I have already seen it, with a very talkative 12 year old next to me. I look forward to seeing it in a less crowded theater and with another adult

Shellye did this WONDERFUL altered tin, I love the colors she used.
Polka dot buttons and background paper, the ribbon is FANTASTIC!
Stop by Shellyes' blog to see how she created this wonderful project!

Amy created this sweet Joy card, I love the hanging ornaments.
The snowflakes are gorgeous on this card as background paper.
Amy did a fabulous job be sure to stop by her blog and see how she created it!

Jeannie created this fabulous multi layer, rainbow colored card. Isn't this card FABULOUS?
Love the embossing, the flowers and the polka dots! Be sure to stop by the Polka Cabana to see

EGD

Good morning.. Monday morning I went in for the EGD... I asked them to not put the i.v in my hand and the doctor said it would not be a problem.. However the guy putting the line in couldn't find my huge vein in my arm so in my hand it went..

1. You have to get completely naked including zero undergarments

I was a little shocked with this news and felt completely unnatural..

2. They prefer your spouse or "ride" to spend time with you before the procedure

However the timing on mine my DH did not get to spend any time with me before hand..

The bed I was in was wheeled to the or and at this point they put the anesthetic in my line... The last thing I remember us the Dr saying we were holding there for a room as he put my hair in a blue hospital cover...

Next thing I know I Am able to get dressed and see my husband..

I should have written this when everything was fresh in my mind but I was quite loopy still..

After I was dressed we went to the cafeteria to eat, then I went to see the nurse that handles everything for my surgery to be sure I am on my path correctly and that I will not have road blocks along the way.. My tentative surgery date is 1/25/12

I then went to my last ship shape class and received my certificate then I went grocery shopping.. As soon as I arrived home around 5pm I went to bed.. At 7pm I was up again to meet done lady who was purchasing some items I listed on Craigslist..

A biopsy was done to test for h- pylori since blood work showed me as positive, it was also discovered that I have a hirneia...

My EGD post op appointment is the same day as my psych eval..

Other things to complete
Pap Smear 11/29
Post op 12/12
Psych eval 12/12
4th support group meeting 12/11
Per op appointment 1/19
Tentative surgery date 1/25
5 th meeting will be on January before 25th

Thursday Thoughtfulness

Good Afternoon Bloggers! Here is some wonderful {ippity} goodness created by Jeannie over at The Polka Cabana, be sure to stop by her blog and leave her some {ippity} love.

Here is what I came up with.
What do you think of those flowers?  I hand made each one of those!
I love the way the handmade flowers look with the flower stamps.  I embossed the stamps in a thick black finish.
I tried to create a blanket type feel by fringing the edges of my paper.
Altogether, I love the way this turned out!
I hope you enjoy the things I make, it is the best part of my day to share ideas with you!
Have a thoughtful Thursday and go make your self a great day!

A random winner will be chosen from commenters on all of the blogs (including Wednesdays post). To up your chance be sure to visit each CT Members blog and leave them a comment. Art Philosophy & {ippity} Stamps

Good Morning Bloggers! I hope you are all doing well!

Today I have a series of Christmas/Winter themed cards to share with you from the {ippity} stamp set Warm Wishes. I should actually start with the worst card, but I am saving that for the last photo.. Ha ha! This is the one I like the best, maybe because I have flowers & embossing on it..?

The Flowers are from the Cricut Cartridge Art Philosophy. The Blue paper is from my stash, extra piece so I am not sure. I embossed the white with the Swiss Dot CuttleBug folder. I inked the edges a little with the same ink color as Winter Wonderland, I want to say that I used CTMH Indian Corn Blue.

Here is Card # 2 in my Mojo weekend playing with the NEW {ippity} set Warm Wishes

After Card#1 that I posted Sunday and was utterly terrible!
This is a FANTASTIC improvement!

Kraft Cardstock - The Paper Company
White CS - The Paper Company
Juniper Ink color - Close to My heart

I have been rearranging my Craft Room so it is a TOTAL disaster..

Have you ever received a stamp set and had this awesome picture win your head of how you wanted your card to turn out, but once executed it ends up terrible?

Well that is how this card happened, I think with every NEW stamp set I receive I make 1 terrible card and then can move on to make a couple of decent cards before I lose my Mojo again..

LOL

Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing Ink
CTMH Indian Corn Blue
Blue CS is Core' donations

My Cricut Craft Rooms Card Creating Tuesday

Good Morning Everyone! Today is Card Creating Tuesday as a part of the My Cricut Craft Room Design Team..

Today I worked with Cricut Craft Room, My Imagine & the New DIGITAL images through Cricut Gnomes & Mushrooms as well as the Imagine Cartridge Santa's Village..

I did a really bad job at the mushroom because I was not looking at the digital handbook
Even though it doesn't have all of it's layers, I still like the look
Mushroom from Gnomes & Mushrooms
Base cut filled with brown from Santa's Village
Polka Dots also comes from Santa's Village Cartridge
Wood Grain paper from DCWV Tahiti Stack
Green Leaf Like Patterned Paper from
Using my Scallop punch I also punched 2 "flowers"
and using my circle punch on Kraft cardstock I punched 2 centers for the "flowers"
I used Peachy Keen Medium bear Facial Features (PK-135) for the center of one "flower"
for the other center I used K. Andrews Positive Thoughts set
I then placed a ribbon to look like a steam and leaf
the edges of the pp are distressed with scissors

I like how this card came together.. Best part I am using things from my NEVER ending supply of papers .. LOL

Thanks for stopping by today, be sure you go to Ericas' Blog
My Cricut Craft Room

Happy Crafting!
