Hey, everyone! It's Sherri, and I have a fun 4th of July centerpiece to share with you today. Ironically, neither my stamps nor my paper have a 4th of July theme. Let me share how you can stretch your "other" stamps to make this holiday project:
Banner Clips: First, I cut some canvas pennants and stamped them with the sheet music background from Gingham Christmas Greetings. I clipped them around the edge of my wire basket (my $2 Goodwill find!) using tiny clothespins from the office supply section at Walmart. I added layered hearts, paper stars, and button rosettes to the clips using Glue Dots. This way, I can just change out the clothespins for different holidays and use the same canvas pennants all year. I think this would be a great with a Christmas theme, too! The heart stamp is from Straight from the Heart. I created the stars from THIS tutorial, except I used the Cricut George cartridge and cut my stars at 2". I stamped them with Dots for Sure before scoring and folding. The rosettes are just patterned paper and buttons. Here is a detail photo of the clips:
Rocket, USA, and Flags: The rocket is super simple! Just stamp the Dots for Sure background on blue patterned paper, then use it to cover a toilet paper roll! The top is made by snipping a bit out of a paper circle. I used hot glue to secure the top to the rocket. The paper curls on the bottom of the rocket are 1/2"x2" strips of patterned paper, curled slightly.
For the USA, I made some simple paper rosettes and embellished them with some punched shapes and "USA" from Alphabetically Adorable.
The flags are just leftover patterned paper wrapped around a skewer, with the tails notched. I stamped "celebrate" from How YOU Doin' repeatedly on the cream paper. I used some extra stamped images from the pennants to fill in the gaps. Here are some close-ups:
And a fun way to anchor the skewers is with unpopped popcorn! You can easily move them around as you arrange them, and it looks so fun for summer!
Thanks so much for joining us at I Heart {ippity} today! I am going to be linking this project over at the Monday Linky Party on the {ippity} blog. I hope that you will link up some of your projects, too!
