SOMETHING GROOVY
For this card, I actually brought out the coloring pencils to color in the adorable VW motif! I then hand-cut the image, flecked with a bit of brown ink and popped onto the oval paper with foam dots.
I wanted the baker's twine 'bow' to resemble the actual bow...for this, I stitched back and up (twice) the length of the bow runner and then tied into generous loops at the top. A small dab of Zig glue holds down the ends of the baker's twine nicely.
A few colorful buttons adds the right amount of detail to the bottom and top of the card.
Quick and easy!

I love the twine and button! CUTE!
ReplyDeleteI just had to comment on this card too! It is just so perfect! I love the twine and how it curves up just so, and the buttons and stitching are FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteI really like the way you designed this card. The twine is a perfect addition and I especially like the blue background you used, reminds me of faded blue jeans
ReplyDeleteCute card. Love the twine!

ReplyDeleteyour card is fabulous! love that the buttons form a smile! so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I simply adore all of the elements of your card. And "flecking" is a new term...if that is the splatter of ink going on around the bus, I LOVE FLECKING! LOL! Great idea to use the buttons along the bottom and one at the top....GREAT CARD!!!

Thanks, everyone!
ReplyDeleteJessica, you're pretty close! Flecking goes way back to my tole painting days (or attempts to tole paint)...I dip an old tooth brush in acrylic paint mixed with a little water and 'fleck' it onto the project :)
